Introduction

Algo Communication Products Ltd. announced the release of version 5.5 of its firmware, bringing significant updates to improve device management and communication experience. This new release introduces advanced features for the Algo Device Management Platform (ADMP) and key enhancements across the entire product line.

Main improvements of version 5.5

ADMP platform update

Firmware version 5.5 enables new features for the ADMP platform, including :

Multi-tenancy : Management of several tenants on a single platform.
SSO (Single Sign-On) : Single authentication to simplify access.
Remote Device Management : Remote device control and management, available in beta.

API improvements

Increased support for momentary door unlocking and file management for more efficient system control.
Output relay configurable by event
Customized output relays and added DTMF tones before ringing or alerting extenders, for better compatibility with legacy zone controllers (8301/8305).

IPv6 support

Improved compatibility with IPv6 SIP servers for more robust network communication.

PoE LLDP power negotiation

Support for PoE LLDP power level negotiation, ensuring optimal power distribution across devices.

SIP enhancements

Improved SIP registration rate limits, simplified de-registration process, and added ‘Retry-After’ response to improve system stability.

Scheduler Improvements

New option to schedule SIP calls with tones, and ability to add DTMF tones before scheduled audio, ensuring compatibility with legacy zone controllers (8301/8305).

Unified Communications Platform Enhancements

This release also brings improved support for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and InformaCast, providing better flexibility and compatibility with these platforms.

Microsoft Teams support : Registration of multiple Teams accounts on different extensions for greater flexibility.
Zoom Phone integration : Support for local survivability and cloud failover of Zoom Phone, ensuring continued communication during service outages.
InformaCast integration : Support for direct configuration mode, Scenarios API (triggered via button or relay input), priority screen mapping, and ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning) support when shipping with an InformaCast license.

Conclusion

Firmware version 5.5 for Algo products brings significant improvements to device management and communication, strengthening compatibility with unified communications platforms and delivering new features for a better user experience. I am a big fan of these devices and I often install and configure paging, intercoms, visual alternators, etc. The possibility of registering several Microsoft Teams accounts on the same device will help me in many projects.
